This position supports the receipt, processing, treatment, transfer, and disposal of petroleum-contaminated wastewater (PCW), sludge, transmix, and related materials while maintaining compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards. The operator is expected to monitor process performance, conduct inspections, perform basic maintenance activities, and ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and operational at all times. Based on duties currently listed in the job description.\nPosition Accountabilities:\nReclamation Process Operations\nReceive & Inspect incoming PCW (Petroleum-Contaminated Wastewater) deliveries to verify material type, quality, volume, and compliance with acceptance criteria.\nReview shipping paperwork, manifests, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.\nSafely collect samples of incoming materials as required for testing, analysis, or process verification.\nIdentify and report unacceptable materials, load discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervision.\nDirect transport drivers to the designated unloading locations and ensure adherence to site safety requirements.\nSafely unload PCW using approved equipment and procedures.\nPerform trailer washout activities when necessary.\nMonitor unloading operations to prevent spills, releases, and cross-contamination of materials.\nRecord receipt information and maintain accurate inventory and operational records.\nMaintain housekeeping standards and ensure unloading areas remain clean, organized, and environmentally compliant.\nTransfer products between storage tanks using facility piping systems, pumps, and valves.\nOperate and monitor the Diffused Air Flotation (DAF) system for pretreatment of petroleum-contaminated wastewater (PCW).\nOperate and monitor the Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) system for biological treatment and final processing of wastewater.\nCollect process samples and perform routine monitoring of treatment operations.\nDischarge treated wastewater into the permitted county sewer system in accordance with operating procedures and permit requirements.\nPerform sludge dewatering operations and prepare wastewater treatment byproducts for landfill disposal.\nSafely transfer PCW, sludge, transmix, and related products throughout the facility.\nMonitor process conditions and make operational adjustments to maintain treatment efficiency.\nFacility Monitoring & Inspection\nConduct routine facility rounds and operational inspections during each shift.\nDocument tank levels, operating conditions, equipment readings, and inspection results.\nRead and record temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and other process measurements.\nIdentify abnormal operating conditions and initiate corrective actions when necessary.\nMaintain accurate operating logs, inspection reports, and shift documentation.\nEquipment Maintenance & Reliability\nPerform routine preventative maintenance.\nTroubleshoot operational issues and assist with equipment repairs.\nInspect equipment for leaks, damage, wear, or malfunction.\nReport equipment concerns and maintenance needs to supervision.\nAssist maintenance personnel and contractors as required.\nSafety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance\nMaintain strict compliance with all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures.\nParticipate in safety observations, incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).\nIdentify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, spills, or environmental concerns immediately.\nIssue and monitor work permits as required and ensure contractor compliance with site Safe Work Practices.\nMaintain housekeeping standards and keep all work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.\nRe\n\nExperience Requirement:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to safely operate industrial process equipment and learn advanced treatment systems.\nWorking knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and industrial controls.\nAbility to interpret operating data and recognize abnormal process conditions.\nAbility to troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues.\nAbility to safely operate forklifts and telehandlers.\nAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented operational environment.\nCommitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.\nWorking Conditions and Requirements:\nThis position operates in an industrial reclamation and wastewater treatment environment and may require exposure to weather conditions, petroleum products, treatment chemicals, elevated work surfaces, noise, and moving mechanical equipment.
