This position partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, improve development processes, ensure timely project delivery, and maintain high standards of performance, reliability, and security across all web service platforms.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.\nMinimum 5 years of software development experience.\nDemonstrated experience developing applications and services using Ruby on Rails.\nPrevious supervisory, team lead, or management experience preferred.\nStrong understanding of API development, web services architecture, software development methodologies, and application security best practices.\nProven ability to manage priorities, allocate resources, delegate work, and meet project deadlines.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.\nCommitted to delivering high-quality solutions while maintaining a strong customer focus.\nDemonstrates professional integrity, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nDemonstrates punctuality, positive work attitude, and cooperative relationships with others.\nAccepts and benefits from constructive criticism.\nAny equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities\nLead and continuously improve the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of APIs and web services supporting SecureCom Wireless products and applications.\nServe as the technical subject matter expert for Ruby on Rails development and related technologies while remaining actively involved in software development activities.\nDevelop and execute departmental goals, priorities, and project plans that align with organizational objectives and customer requirements.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to software development team members in the areas of architecture, design, coding standards, testing, and troubleshooting.\nAssign projects and tasks through Jira, establish schedules and deadlines, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.\nCollaborate with engineering, product management, quality assurance, technical support, and other departments to ensure efficient execution of projects and alignment of business objectives.\nEnsure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and free from defects while meeting customer expectations for performance and reliability.\nManage department resources, workload planning, and budget objectives to maximize efficiency and productivity.\nPrepare and present regular reports to the Director of Software regarding project status, team performance, risks, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives.\nParticipate in the recruitment, hiring, development, performance management, and retention of team members in partnership with Human Resources.\nManage third-party vendors, contractors, and external service providers as necessary to support departmental objectives.\nEvaluate existing development processes, tools, and technologies and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, scalability, and team effectiveness.\nMaintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, security requirements, and development best practices to ensure modern and effective solutions.\nObserve and adhere to DMP Data Classification Standards.\nObserve company policies and continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, eliminate waste, and increase customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned.
