In this role, you will play a critical part in integrating security practices into our development and operations workflows, ensuring the protection of our most sensitive systems and communications. You will work at the intersection of security, software development, and infrastructure — helping to build and maintain secure, reliable systems that support Blue Origin's mission.\n\nWho You'll Work With\nYou will collaborate closely with:\nCybersecurity teams to define and enforce security policies and standards\nSoftware Developers to embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)\nSite Reliability Engineers (SREs) to ensure secure, stable, and scalable operations\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain secure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure\nIntegrate automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows\nSupport COMSEC operations by ensuring secure communication systems and tools meet applicable standards\nIdentify and remediate security vulnerabilities across development and production environments\nE nforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across engineering teams\nMonitor systems for security threats and respond to incidents in collaboration with Cybersecurity teams\nPartner with SREs to build resilient, security-hardened infrastructure\nEnsure compliance with relevant government and industry security frameworks and regulations\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science , Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field\n8+ years of experience in DevOps, SecDevOps , or a related engineering discipline\nProven experience integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows\nHands-on experience with security tools such as SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM platforms\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)\nStrong understanding of networking, encryption, and secure communications\nFamiliarity with security frameworks such as NIST SP 8 00-series , RMF, or CMMC\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nActive U.S. Security Clearance or ability to obtain one\nExperience with COMSEC equipment, policies, and key management\nRelevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or Certified DevSecOps Professional\nExperience applying NIST SP 800-53 security and privacy controls for federal information systems and organizations\nExperience working in an aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment\nFamiliarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible\n\nBase Pay Range for:\nCO applicants is $181,626.00 - $254,275.35\nOther site ranges may differ\n\nCulture Statement\nDon’t meet all desired requirements?
