The role requires a combination of mainframe engineering, production support, financial market knowledge, data processing, and strong collaboration with business and operations teams.\nYour future duties and responsibilities:\nApplication development and enhancement\n. Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and related technologies.\n. Build enhancements for trade capture, transaction processing, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, fees, commissions, and accounting.\n. Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and program specifications.\n. Develop batch, online, and file processing components.\n\nCapital markets transaction processing\n. Support applications handling equities, fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange, securities lending, or related products.\n. Process trade lifecycle events such as booking, allocation, confirmation, clearing, settlement, maturity, coupon payments, and corporate actions.\n. Implement business rules for market calendars, currencies, settlement instructions, pricing, positions, and cash movements.\n. Support interfaces with trading platforms, custodians, exchanges, clearing houses, depositories, and general ledger systems.\n\nProduction support\n. Monitor critical intraday, end of day, and overnight batch processing cycles.\n. Investigate job failures, transaction errors, reconciliation breaks, and data quality issues.\n. Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.\n. Participate in on call support for business critical applications.\n. Coordinate incident resolution with operations, infrastructure, database, middleware, and business teams.\n\nPerformance and reliability\n. Analyze and optimize COBOL programs, DB2 queries, CICS transactions, and batch jobs.\n. Improve processing speed, system availability, restart capability, and operational resilience.\n. Manage high transaction volumes during market open, market close, month end, and quarter end processing.\n. Implement error handling, recovery, audit logging, and rerun procedures.\nRequired qualifications to be successful in this role:\n. Capital Markets Domain: Basic to intermediate understanding of Capital Markets, corporate treasury, funding desks, or fixed income trading concepts (e.g., Repo agreements, short term money markets).\n. Financial Accounting: Familiarity with ledger postings, trade settlement processes, or batch accounting logic.\n. Regulatory Awareness: Previous exposure to financial regulatory data reporting environments (e.g., Dodd Frank, Basel III, Fed reporting) is a major plus.\n. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related quantitative field.\n\nCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role.
