We save our customers:\nTime - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.\nMoney - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also unlock additional revenue through the automation of grid services.\nCO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.\nTHE ROLE:\nWe are looking for a Senior Building Intelligence Engineer based in the DC metro area to join our team and help us to ensure that all client buildings are adapted to work successfully with the Parity platform.\nLeveraging your background in HVAC controls and energy engineering, you will support the sales engineering process, provide onsite installation commissioning and ongoing technical support for our existing and prospective customers. We are looking for someone hungry, eager to learn, and passionate about the energy and Cleantech space!\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nOwn full project execution in the field from mobilization through commissioning — maintaining accountability for subcontractor performance, site safety, schedule adherence, and quality standards\nManage multiple active projects simultaneously, keeping each organized and on track by coordinating with clients, subcontractors, building staff, and internal teams.\nCoordinate procurement of controls hardware and materials in collaboration with operations and finance\nManage subcontractors in the field to ensure timely completion of Parity’s integration projects.\nDevelop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and identifying critical path risks proactively.\nIdentify and manage scope changes, preparing and negotiating change orders with subcontractors and communicating impacts to internal stakeholders.\nLead DDC panel startup and point-to-point commissioning — verifying field wiring, confirming I/O points, and validating controller communication prior to system-level integration with Parity's platform\nCoordinate closely with integration and deployment team to ensure algorithm deployment and data connections\nServe as the technical lead during final system commissioning and sign-off—ensuring client expectations, program requirements, and Parity’s quality standards are met.\nPrepare and finalize all required close-out materials for each project to ensure a complete and accurate turnover to the Service Delivery team.\nCoordinate with energy engineering team as needed to support estimating, incentive procurement and other tasks\nContribute to the development of internal process and systems development/improvement\nStay current with best practices in HVAC controls, building automation, and energy efficiency to support continuous improvement in technical execution.\nAct as a regional technical resource for live buildings—supporting Parity’s service delivery team with ongoing troubleshooting, optimization, and customer engagement\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n5-10 years’ experience in controls/building automation, MEP engineering, including at least 3+ years managing building automation/controls projects for commercial real estate clients.\nProven experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to read and interpret Control Schematics and Sequences of Operations.\nExperience with DDC-based control systems and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus)\nHands-on experience with DDC panel startup and point-to-point (P2P) commissioning of BAS/controls systems\nAbility to travel regularly to client sites in the greater DC metropolitan area.\nStrong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.\nSelf-starter with a growth mindset—eager to take on new responsibilities and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment\nQuick learner who can independently execute and improve on tasks after initial guidance\nProactive about identifying inefficiencies, filling gaps, and optimizing internal processes.\nPreference will be given to candidates with any of the following additional qualifications:\nExperience managing energy retrofit projects\nExperience managing controls projects\nExperience with controls commissioning\nExperience with Niagara Tridium products and applications\nWHY JOIN US?\nJoin our organization in a key role during a period of tremendous growth and directly contribute to its future success.
