Position Type: Support Staff Date Posted: 5/20/2026 Location: Cass Career Center Date Available: 08/21/2026 Closing Date: Until Filled Cass Career Center Position Title: Career Resource Educator (CRE) & Administrative Assistant Description It is the goal of the Career Resource Educator (CRE) to assist students enrolled at the Cass Career Center in technical programs with special vocational and educational needs. The CRE Aide will maintain student information, provide clerical support to the attendance secretary and the CRE (counselor), screen visitors for secure access into the building, and greet the public. Knowledge/Skills RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentMust have completed a minimum of 60 hours of college credit or achieve a passing score on the Paraprofessional ExaminationBe substitute teacher certified or have the ability to do soKnowledge of word processing and database managementClerical skillsGood use of vocabulary and the English language, spelling and mathematicsAbility to interact and communicate professionally with the public, staff and students Responsibilities and Duties Category Details Salary Schedule Support Staff Paraprofessional Non-Exempt Employment Period 9 months 7 hours per day Regular, consistent attendance expected Evaluation Process Annual Performance Review via Support Staff Evaluation Employed "At Will" Reports To Career Resource Educator (Counselor) Benefits & Policies Leave policies, and fringe benefits as stated in Board policies Work cooperatively with administrators and staff throughout the districtSupport teachers to provide IEP and 504 accommodations for studentsWork with instructors as a resource for students that need extra educational supportSupport with students in crisis or in need of immediate assistanceScreen visitors and provide secure access to the Cass Career CenterCompile data required for DESE Core Data and 180-day follow-upUtilize the district student information system (SIS) for reporting, communicating with parents, and other tasksAssist with certification tracking and annual awards ceremonyWork as a positive team member, providing support to other building personnelDress professionally and in a manner that will not interfere with the educational environmentPerform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the administrative team
