Resources for Human Development (RHD) is hiring a Program Specialist for our Residential team! This position is located in Eastern South Dakota. The ideal candidate will reside in the Sioux Falls area.\nThe Program Specialist position is responsible for supporting the health, safety, and growth of the individuals in the program, including ISPs, medical requirements, programmatic concerns, individual finances and incident reporting as well as adhering to funder regulations. The Program Specialist oversees the quality of programmatic, health and habilitative services by ensuring that the needs of individuals served are met and necessary services and supports are provided.\nA commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.\nEssential Duties and Functions:\nAdministrative\nEnsures that HIPPA regulations are complied with and that all paperwork and required documentation is completed in a timely, thorough, accurate manner as per regulations.\nEnsures incident reports are complete, accurate and timely with corrective action taken when necessary · Input all reportable incidents and follow-up into EIM.\nParticipates in audits and ensures all license requirements of the program participant are met, service definitions for unlicensed home and community rehab and respite services meet funder and community standards.\nMaintains client files that include annual assessments and Individual Support Plans, as well as any supporting documents as per applicable regulations.\nDevelops and maintains a catalog of community resources/activities and coordinates all communication for the consumers with individuals, family members, day programs, Behavior Consultants, SC’s and other outside entities, such as the Social Security Administration, Medical Insurance Companies, etc.\nChecks PROMISe eligibility and notifies the Director of any issues that could affect funding and billing.\nCoordinates and distributes all consumer financial matters such as SSI, food stamps, rep-payee-ship, burial accounts, taxes, SSA Monthly Wage Reports, Room and Board contracts, renewal of annual stipends etc. with Fadmin.\nStaff Support\nTrains direct care staff in the individual support plans as well as mentor them in day-to-day implementation and documentation.\nClient Support\nCreates an environment that empowers individuals through the development of skills and coordination of resources and supportive services.\nEnsures that all consumers' medical, dental, psychiatric, and psychological services are scheduled in accordance with regulations and doctor recommendations.\nCreate ISP’s and advocate for consumers with input from program management and consumer's team to identify service needs and goals, to ensure that such goals are accurately documented in the ISP; and to monitor ISP progress.\nWrite instructional plans for the implementation of goals, objectives, and outcomes to implement consumer long and short-term goals and train all staff in the implementation of ISPs annually.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nEssential Duties Addendum\nMay act as the direct supervisor of Site Supervisors of the homes for which the Program Specialist maintains overall programmatic and operational responsibility.\nMay assist with opening new homes and transitioning consumers into, within and out of the program.\nParticipate in program on-call rotation which would include 1-2 times a quarter.\nQualifications\nMaster’s degree or above from an accredited college or university (Special Education desired) and 1 year of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.\nOR\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.\nOR\nAssociate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.\nUtilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point to complete reporting requirements and submit necessary data within a timely fashion\nWillingness to maintain a minimum of 24 hrs of in-service trainings per calendar year\nOR\nHigh School diploma and 6 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.\nRequirements\nPhysical requirements\nLifting Requirements\nMedium: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.\nPhysical Requirements\nStand or Sit (stationary position)\nWalk\nUse hands or fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, prepare, inspect, position)\nClimb (stairs/ladders)\nTalk/Hear (communicate, converse, convey, express/exchange information)\nSee (detect, identify, recognize, inspect, assess)\nPushing or Pulling\nRepetitive Motion\nReaching (high or low)\nKneel, Stoop, Crouch or Crawl (position self, move)\nReporting Relationships\nDirect Supervisor: Assistant Program Director, Program Director\nResources for Human Development is an equal opportunity employer.
