SUMMARY OF POSITION Provides professional nursing care according to the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice, in conformance with the scope of practice, plan of care and physician/nursing orders ensuring that the highest quality of nursing care is delivered in accordance with the established standards and procedures. Must love the geriatric population and understand/embrace the importance of quality of life. 7pm-7am, weekends only ($2.00 shift differential)PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAdminister medicines (p.o., IM, subq), manage IV's effectively; perform special care treatments and procedures such as dressings, foley catheterizations, operation of pumps, special beds as ordered per policy and procedureProcess medical and nursing orders, according to facility policy and procedureOperate necessary equipment properly to carry out physician's ordersIntervene, according to facility policy and procedure, in emergency and life threatening situationsReport timely with pertinent data in a concise manner between outgoing and incoming shiftsPerform other activities as assignedChart significant and meaningful observations of the residents reflecting nursing processAssess and identify resident problems, symptoms, and behavioral changesSupervise ancillary nursing staff effectivelyCollaborate with all members of the health care team to promote quality resident careCommunicate with physicians as necessaryCommunication skills reflecting caring and respect for residents, families and other members of the health care teamKnowledgeable of legal guidelines and ethical standards of the LPN in the state of TennesseeAttend 12 in-service programs yearly to maintain competency expectationsKnowledgeable of Trezevant's Mission, vision and valuesReport for work on time, as scheduled as outlined in the Employee HandbookLPN NURSESScope of Authority/Reporting: The License Practical Nurse (LPN) will make clinical decisions.
