{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"dbb43997d2f6a183a42b3a57","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dbb43997d2f6a183a42b3a57","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dbb43997d2f6a183a42b3a57","title":"Yard Associate","description":"Job Title: Lumber Yard Associate\nReports To: Yard Manager\nJob Type: Full-Time/Part-Time\nPosition Summary:\nThe Lumber Yard Associate is responsible helping customers, loading and unloading trucks, stocking material, delivering material, cleaning, organization.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssists in gathering materials to build loads/orders\nAssist truck drivers to load various building supplies onto trucks for delivery\nOperate the yard forklifts once training and certification has been achieved\nHelp unload transport trucks with product for the store and yard\nBe knowledgeable about all products stored in the yard\nPractice proper material handling techniques to ensure minimal damage to yard inventory\nKeep the yard area clean and presentable in appearance\nExecutes and understands the importance of time management, standards of operating procedures, owner’s manuals and product/warning labels\nAssists in keeping inventory stocked with proper materials\nOperates with a strict awareness of all safety\nEnsure proper loading, unloading, stacking, and storage of lumber and related products.\nAssist team in maintaining accurate inventory records and assist with regular cycle counts.\nA strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service is essential, as this role directly supports our goal of ensuring every customer has a positive and professional experience.\nAdditional duties may be assigned by manager or supervisor as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications a plus.\nStrong knowledge of lumber types, sizes, and grades.\nProficient in forklift operation; current forklift certification preferred.\nBasic computer skills\nAbility to lift and move heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.\nWork Environment:\nPrimarily outdoors in a lumber yard setting.\nExposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise.\nFrequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.\nSchedule:\nFull-time: typically Monday through Friday and every other Saturday (will be off another day during the week when working Saturday).\nPart-time: works as needed (typically works Saturdays).\nWe are your local hardware store and we are a part of your community.
