This position works closely with Quality, Production, Research & Development, and other departments to identify quality issues, investigate deviations, and support continuous improvement. The Quality Control Technician must demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment involving dyes, paints, pigments, and related chemical products.\r\nEssential ResponsibilitiesQuality Testing & InspectionPerform routine physical, chemical, and instrumental testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products.\r\nPerform color evaluations and comparisons using appropriate laboratory methods and instrumentation.\r\nConduct testing such as viscosity, pH, solids, density, grind, particle size, moisture, strength, tint, color, and other applicable product characteristics.\r\nOperate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to established procedures.\r\nProduction & In-Process SupportCommunicate test results to Production and Quality personnel in a timely manner.\r\nAssist Production with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying potential causes of product variation.\r\nSupport batch adjustments and rework activities when directed by Quality or Production leadership.\r\nPlace material on hold when test results do not meet established specifications and escalated issues appropriately.\r\nSupport investigations of nonconforming materials and products.\r\nDocumentation & Data ManagementAccurately record laboratory test results in the appropriate laboratory, quality, or ERP systems.\r\nSupport preparation of quality reports, certificates of analysis, and other quality documentation as assigned.\r\nMaintain confidentiality and integrity of customer and product information.\r\nSafety & Environmental ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.\r\nProperly handle, label, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials.\r\nUse required personal protective equipment (PPE).\r\nFollow applicable SDS, chemical handling, spill response, and waste disposal procedures.\r\nImmediately report unsafe conditions, spills, incidents, or exposures to appropriate leadership.\r\nMaintain good housekeeping practices in the laboratory and surrounding work areas.\r\nQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.\r\nPrevious experience in a laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or chemical-processing environment preferred.\r\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\r\nAbility to follow written procedures and standardized testing methods.\r\nBasic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and retrieve data.\r\nAbility to communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and other departments.\r\nAbility to prioritize work and manage multiple samples or testing requests.\r\nAbility to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.\r\nMust be willing and able to work overtime as required by customer and business demands.\r\nWork EnvironmentThis position works primarily in a quality control laboratory located within or adjacent to a chemical manufacturing/production environment. The employee may regularly enter production, warehouse, and other plant areas to collect samples, investigate quality concerns, and communicate with manufacturing personnel.
