JOB POSTING: SENIOR ESTIMATOR Headline: Senior Estimator – Perfect the Process & Lead the Department Fryar Construction is a premier Design-Build firm in LaFayette, GA. We are scaling by building high-margin custom homes and renovations. We are vertically integrated with a dedicated Sales Team, Internal Design, and Internal Labor Crews. We are done waiting on vendors to get back to us. We are taking control of our math. We need a Senior Estimator to lead that charge. The Mission: Your primary goal is Self-Sufficiency. Currently, too many builders rely on lumber yards or subcontractors to tell them what materials are needed. That ends today. You will develop an internal takeoff system so we know exactly what a project costs before we ever send a bid to a vendor. What You Will Do: Refine & Elevate the System: We have a foundation in place, but we need an expert to perfect it. You will evaluate our current estimating workflow and either optimize it or implement your own proven methods to establish the "Gold Standard" for how Fryar estimates. Visualize & Clarify (The AutoCAD/Revit Edge): You don’t just read plans; you enhance them. Use AutoCAD or Revit to generate detailed scope exhibits and "draw out" specific Fryar spec items. You will provide visual clarity for subcontractors on non-design/build projects, ensuring accurate pricing and eliminating scope gaps where architectural drawings fall short. Internalize the Takeoffs: You will perform detailed stick counts and material takeoffs internally, leveraging CAD data for precision. We stop relying on vendors for accuracy. Own the Spreadsheet: Create bulletproof budgets for Custom Homes ($750k+) and Renovations ($150k+). Value Engineer: Work with our Design Team to find smart cost savings for clients before construction starts. Who You Are: You are a System Architect. You don't just want a job; you want to own the workflow. You look at a set of plans, identify the gaps, and build the solution. You are a Self-Starter. You don't need to be micromanaged. You take the tools we give you and make them sharper. You know the trades. You know exactly how long it takes to frame a roof because you’ve seen it done. You are tech-savvy. You are a master of Buildertrend, Excel, and Takeoff Software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.). Crucially, you are proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit and can use them to draft visual scopes of work to support your estimates.
