Visit us at www.relativedynamics.space.\nRelative Dynamics is seeking a mid-level cross platform Linux Systems Administrator to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS).\nThe JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property.\nThe incumbent shall live within 50 miles of Chantilly, VA.\nWhat You'll Do:\nProvide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems primarily within Linux and some Windows infrastructures.\nUnderstand and implement STIG policies as defined by client and industry standards.\nHeavy focus on Linux administration with a need for automation, LDAP management, patching, security baselines and maintenance in both a virtual and hardware centric environment.\nManagement of VMware vSphere (including vCenter and ESXi) supporting multi-site environments.\nConfigure and manage Linux operating system software within physical & ESXI virtual infrastructures as well as cloud based Virtual Machines (VMs) such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).\nManagement, coordination, and implementation of software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on Linux including administering and using automated tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.\nCollaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.\nIdentify issues and create improvement processes to help with the reduction of incident outage times.\nDevelop and maintain O&M Standard Operating Procedures for developed capabilities.\nWrite and edit scripts in Python, Perl, YAML, Jinja2, Bash, etc.\nUtilize JIRA in an Agile development environment.\nSupport development and maintenance of automated testing\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nSystems Administration experience administering user accounts, performing server subsystem configuration, network management, installation of software, performing backups, configuration management, and general system maintenance\nLinux system administration RHEL 7 & 8 Server\nUnderstanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Linux desktop systems, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels)\nExperience with server ESXi VMWare virtualization methodologies\nFamiliarity with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, Git, etc.\nExperience working in an Agile development environment\nFamiliar with Systems Engineering processes\nWilling to learn new things\nWithin commuting distance of Chantilly, VA\nDesired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nIBM BigFix (TEM) experience\nExperience with Splunk, WSUS\nExperience with basic Network Protocols\nExperience implementing hardware architecture.\nUnderstanding of analytical needs and requirements for clients\nExperience supporting client meetings and participating in client requirement reviews and meetings\nExperience analyzing new hardware/software needs\nFamiliar with working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices\nStrong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail\nOutstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization\nWindows system administration, managing Active Directory, group policy and DNS supporting multi-site environments.\nEducation and Experience Required:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field and 5-7 years’ experience, or master’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience, or high school diploma/equivalent and 12 years relevant experience\nClearance Level Required:\nAbility to obtain a Public Trust clearance\nWhat You'll Enjoy:\nCompetitive wage and benefits package\nMedical dental and vision insurance\nVacation and paid holidays\nTuition reimbursement\nGreat 401k with company match\nEmployee referral program\nCommunity involvement investing and giving back to the community\nRelative Dynamics conducts a comprehensive background check that includes drug testing.
