As practices, equipment, and technology continue to advance and shift, we can guarantee our tradition of serving for success remains the same; just as it has since 1934.About The JobThe Human Resources Manager leads core HR functions including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, HR policy and compliance, and supports payroll activities. This hands-on role owns the annual open enrollment process, administers the company wellness program, and supports annual audits including benefits, 401(k), and workers' compensation.ResponsibilitiesServe as the subject matter expert for all employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and wellness programsManage the annual open enrollment process from end to end, including vendor coordination, plan review, cost analysis, employee communications, presentations, HRIS updates and testing, and EDI file accuracyAdminister day-to-day benefits activities, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, COBRA, and leave programs such as FMLA, ADA, and leaves of absenceReconcile monthly benefit invoices in a timely manner and resolve discrepanciesGuide employees on benefit options and serve as a liaison for insurance claim issuesLead wellness initiatives by administering and promoting the company’s wellness program, tracking participation, measuring outcomes, and recommending improvementsManage wellness communications and coordinate on-site and virtual visits with wellness partnersServe as a trusted resource to employees and managers on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and policy interpretationConduct investigations as needed and recommend appropriate actionMediate and resolve workplace conflictsSupport initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, morale, and retentionUpdate, communicate, and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal requirementsUse HR metrics and reporting tools to evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and initiativesCollect and analyze HR data to identify trends and opportunities for improvementAdminister the performance review process, including mid-year check-ins, annual evaluations, and development planningPartner with managers to support effective feedback, documentation, and performance improvement practicesObtain appropriate approvals for pay-related changes, including new hires, promotions, corrections, and cost-of-living increasesAssist the Payroll Specialist with pay-related activities to support timely and accurate weekly and bi-weekly payroll processingCommunicate pay and benefit changes to the Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate processingConduct salary benchmarking and market analysis to support competitive pay structuresConduct regular audits to ensure HR practices comply with legal requirements, including annual EEO and ACA reportingPerform company audits, including benefits, workers’ compensation, and 401(k)Oversee HRIS data accuracy, reporting, and process improvementsManage employee files, documentation, and records retention in electronic filing systemsSupport new hire activities by coordinating pre-employment steps, orientation, and first-day schedules with HR and safety teamsConduct employee surveys and use feedback to improve the work environmentManage monthly HR newsletter content for employee distributionPromote a positive organizational culture aligned with the company’s values and missionRequirementsBachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business, or a related field requiredFive or more years of progressive HR experience, including direct responsibility for benefits administrationSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferredAdvanced computer skills with experience in HRIS and payroll systemsStrong knowledge of employment laws, benefits regulations, and HR best practicesAbility to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalismExperience with company-sponsored wellness programs is a plusExcellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsMust comply with all applicable state and federal laws and guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigationBenefits: We offer a wide range of employee benefits along with competitive compensation, opportunities for career development, and a dynamic work environment.Affordable healthcare coverage for you and your family, including health, dental, and vision insuranceFlexible Spending Account and Health Savings AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramLong-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, Basic Life Insurance & Voluntary Life InsuranceGroup Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Cancer and Critical Illness coverageCasual dress, with company provided stipend for logo wearTuition Reimbursement Program, including training and seminars for professional development401K Retirement Plan & Profit SharingBereavement PolicyEmployee Recognition Program, including peer nominated awards and company provided lunchesPaid Time Off, including vacation & sick time, paid holidays, jury duty PTO, and paid time to volunteer in your communityInterested in joining the Stutsman team?
