You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, apply advanced technical expertise, and collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to bring challenging designs from concept through completion.\n\nThis senior-level role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading project teams, and serving as a technical resource and mentor to others. You’ll work on meaningful projects across a variety of industries while helping ensure safe, practical, and high-quality engineering solutions.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nPerform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.\n\nProvide leadership and guidance to more junior engineers while executing a variety of structural engineering tasks.\n\nCapable of working within or leading a multi-disciplinary engineering project team.\n\nLayout and detail entire projects as an Engineer of Record or portions of projects under the supervision of the Engineer of Record\n\nProvide CAD drawings or sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers/Drafters\n\nResearch design options and document findings for Engineer of Record\n\nReview shop drawings\n\nAssume the lead engineer’s role on assigned projects\n\nDevelop construction cost estimates\n\nDirect and supervise other Designer’s/Drafter’s activities as needed\n\nAttend and participate in client meetings as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)\n\nPerform field activities such as observing and recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements within project area\n\nOrganize, draft, and coordinate technical documents\n\nServe as the project engineer by leading design and engineering effort, and managing proposed schedule and budget throughout each project\n\nWork either independently or closely with others in a team environment on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals\n\nPresent technical aspects of a project and structural design approach to technical and non-technical individuals\n\nMaintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of all applicable engineering codes and practices\n\nPosition Requirements:\n\nEducation, Certifications/Licenses, Experience:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university\n\n5+ years’ experience as a structural engineer\n\nPE preferred, EIT required\n\nKnowledge, skills, and abilities:\n\nHistory of successful completion of projects\n\nAbility to work independently and in close collaboration with others\n\nPreferred experience with engineering and/ design software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Civil 3D, RISA, Excel Spreadsheets, Bluebeam REVU etc.\n\nUnderstand 2-D and 3-D drafting techniques\n\nFirm knowledge of design codes including: ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Demands:\n\nThe job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Routinely use standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
