This position will be responsible for completing tasks personally and supervising a crew as a working foreman. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.\nAutonomy and Decision-Making: Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.\nCareer Path: Superintendent 1\nKey Role Responsibilities - Core\nTRADE FOREMAN FAMILY - CORE\nLearns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.\nWorks with tools to complete specific assigned tasks on a project.\nTracks and reports units and labor hours, including filling out and submitting timecards.\nMaintains proper care and the appropriate number of tools and equipment necessary to support productions specific to a project.\nLeads and monitors safety and security procedures within the crew.\nUnderstands and achieves crew production goals.\nEstablishes crew sizes that align with production goals.\nDocuments key information such as activities, productions and crew sizes.\nCommunicates with suppliers and coordinates delivery of supplies to jobsite.\nUnderstands and maintains established quality levels associated with duties.\nCoordinates other trade work associated with the assigned scope of work.\nParticipates in all safety activities such as tool box talks, job hazard analysis, job site analysis and SIMS (Site Information Management System) reporting.\nReads and understands plans, specifications, shop drawings and coordination drawings.\nProvides on-the-job guidance and willingly shares subject matter expertise in order to support team member learning and development.\nCoordinates inspections for assigned scope of work.\nParticipates in, documents and updates punch lists.\nKey Role Responsibilities - Additional Core\nTRADE FOREMAN 2\nIn addition, this position will be responsible for the following:\nManages subcontractor crews for portions of projects or a small project.\nCreates, communicates, monitors and achieves crew production goals.\nCoordinates work for larger crews and/or other trade foremen.\nCoordinates preplanning activities for project components such as crew size, schedule, materials, meetings and manpower.\nCoordinates usage of all aspects of construction project resources, including internal and external support.\nCreates and implements safety plans and ensures compliance through use of training, tool box talks and communication with safety representatives.\nControls costs in production units through understanding multiple variables, such as the project management system, task specific reports, production and costs for assigned responsibilities.\nSupports project quality assurance/quality control planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.\nApplies and leads Lean principles and practices on the jobsite such as daily stand-up meetings, pull planning, etc.\nAssists with MOC (Materials and Other Costs) and equipment analysis.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.\nCommunication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).\nProficiency in MS Office.\nKnowledge of organizational structure and available resources.\nAbility to apply Lean process and philosophy.\nKnowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.\nKnowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.\nKnowledge of the means and methods of construction management.\nKnowledge of layout skill (Intermediate).\nKnowledge of crane flagging and rigging (Intermediate).\nAbility to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.\nAcquire knowledge of productivity rates.\nAbility to assess and optimize project productivity.\nAbility to lead crews and achieve production goals.\nAbility to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nVocational/Technical degree in related field (Preferred)\nExperience\n3+ years commercial construction experience.\n2+ years field supervision experience.\nWorking Environment\nMust be able to lift at least to 50 pounds\nMay require periods of travel\nMay be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)\nMust be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs\nFrequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling\nOccasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen\nBenefits Information\nThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.
