This is a Lead level position.\nPrimary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nStaff and operate Company support aircraft transporting parts, mechanics, pilots, administrative/company personnel, and CALFIRE personnel as required in support of the CALFIRE aviation program. All flights are conducted under FAR Part 135 and Part 91 rules.\nAct in a similar capacity as a \"Chief Pilot\" but is not part of management.\nIf qualified under program Part 135 certificate: develop, execute, and manage the pilot training program to include initial, upgrade, and recurrent training.\nAssign company pilots as needed to the monthly flight schedule to meet CALFIRE staffing requirements.\nEnsure compliance with aviation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.\nProvide leadership and guidance to company pilots; monitor performance, conduct training and evaluations to maintain high standards of competence and professionalism.\nEnsure all flights are conducted safely, in accordance with relevant aviation regulations and guidelines.\nAct as a point of contact between the flight department and various stakeholders, such as M1 Management, CALFIRE AMU, and Lead Mechanics.\nStrive for continuous improvement in flight operations; analyze data, identify areas for enhancement, and implement best practices to stay abreast of advancement and emerging trends\nQualifications and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMeet the requirements for Support Pilot Multi-Engine Jet Pilot and Turboprop Single Engine Pilot\nPossess a valid and current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with the following rating:\no FAA Multi-Engine Airplane Transport Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain post hire.\nFive years performing pilot duties as a designated Maintenance Support Pilot in support of CAL FIRE operations.\nFirst Class Medical Certificate with EKG endorsement if over forty (40) years of age.\nPilot currency and proficiency shall be maintained by each pilot in company aircraft as necessary. Additionally, annual training shall be accomplished before fire season begins, to consist of ground school and flight proficiency.\nWorking Conditions:\nMust be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.\nMay be exposed to contaminants.\nWill be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nWill be required to use safety equipment as directed by the company in accordance with applicable Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Codes\nMust be physically able to perform duties and responsibilities of the classification.\nM1 Support Services, headquartered in Denton, Texas provides a variety of professional, technical, and maintenance services to the Department of Defense and government agencies.\nM1 Support Services is an equal opportunity employer.
