And under this roof, we protect what matters most.\n\nTeam or Function Overview\nWe are looking for a Senior Buyer, a team-oriented individual who has a strong understanding of standard purchasing and supply chain concepts, practices and procedures to lead the Indirect Purchasing division of our company.\n\nSummary\nThe Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing activities to mitigate supply risk and to achieve optimal/lowest total cost of ownership of raw materials or outsourced products to meet the needs of GAF.\nEssential Duties\nNegotiate with suppliers for execution of Supply Agreements that achieve lowest total system cost and which are in accordance with company policies and procedures.\nManage contractual commitments and supplier assessments, ensuring all purchases are consistent with quality and delivery requirements.\nCoordinate with internal customers to implement supplier changes, as required; assist plant buyers and internal customers on sourcing related issues.\nAnalyze, develop and deliver timely cost information.\nAssess suppliers and potential suppliers.\nManage vendor relationships and build effective partnerships.\nDevelop and implement sourcing strategies that are aligned with GAF business objectives.\nTrack supplier metrics, communicate supplier performance, and forecast requirements, as needed, ensuring all purchases consistent with quality and delivery requirements.\nUpdate price models, as required.\nMaintain sourcing database and metrics for reporting and communicating Procurement activities\nIdentify suppliers and prepare RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for product categories.\nComplete bid evaluations.\nOther tasks as assigned.\n\nUnder This Roof, We Require\nA Bachelor’s Degree in the field of supply chain, business, science or engineering\nMinimum of five years procurement experience within industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management\nExperience in use of ERP systems (PeopleSoft, SAP, or equivalent) and AMMS system (Maximo).\n\nUnder This Roof, We Also Value\nMaster’s Degree preferred.\nIndustrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience preferred.\nRequired business travel up to 10%\n\nHow We Protect What Matters Most\nWe offer a wide range of health insurance options that include medical, dental and vision for you and your family.\nOur Family-Building benefits support the many different journeys to fertility and parenthood.\nOur robust 401K plan includes an employer match contribution with your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions.\nOther exciting programs and perks are available to help employees achieve work-life balance, including (but not limited to) a wellness program, free financial coaching, referral program, and product rebates when purchased for an employee’s primary residence.\nProfessional growth and development are very important to us!
