The VDC Engineer will be instrumental in improving project efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring seamless collaboration between various stakeholders.\n\nThis position is based out of our headquarters in Meridian Idaho.\n\nESI covers 100% of the medical premium for all employees and families.\n\nGreat upward mobility for career growth\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDevelop and manage detailed 3D models using BIM software, ensuring accuracy and completeness in representation.\n\nWork closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to integrate and coordinate models, fostering effective communication and collaboration.\n\nConduct clash detection analysis to identify and resolve design conflicts early in the planning and design phases, minimizing issues during construction.\n\nUtilize BIM tools to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and generate material schedules for construction projects.\n\nCreate visualizations, renderings, and animations to assist in conveying design concepts and construction sequences to project teams and stakeholders.\n\nCollect and analyze data from various sources to derive insights that contribute to the optimization of construction processes and project outcomes.\n\nCollaborate with project teams to implement VDC strategies and best practices, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.\n\nDevelop 4D construction sequencing models, integrating time‑based information into the 3D model to visualize project progress and identify potential scheduling conflicts.\n\nStay abreast of emerging technologies and tools related to VDC, and contribute to the integration of new technologies into the construction workflow.\n\nConduct regular reviews of models to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.\n\nProvide training and support to project team members on the use of VDC tools and methodologies, promoting proficiency and adoption across the organization.\n\nIdentify and address potential risks related to the virtual design and construction process, working proactively to minimize issues and delays.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.\n\nProficiency in BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.\n\nExperience in 3D modeling, clash detection, and construction sequencing.\n\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills.\n\nKnowledge of construction industry standards and practices.\n\nFamiliarity with emerging technologies in the construction and VDC field.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nFast‑paced working environment.\n\nManage several projects at one time.\n\nInterrupted frequently to meet the needs and request of team members, clients, and subcontractors.\n\nWorking environment may be busy and noisy.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nThis position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.\n\nThe role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.\n\nThe ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs.
