We’re always on the lookout for smart people who are committed to continuous improvement, customer service and quality.\n\nJOB DESCRIPTION\n\nJOB TITLE: Utility, Assembly FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt\n\nREPORTS TO: Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly)\n\nSUMMARY\nThis is responsible work, generally of a routine nature. Supplies parts and/or material as needed to operators/associates as well as other duties as assigned. Direct supervision is provided by the shift supervisor, but the routine nature of the work allows for reasonable independent work scheduling within prescribed guidelines.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust be physically capable of walking and pushing a cart for the entire work shift.\nMust be able to move up to 40 pounds.\nRepeated bending and lifting during the shift.\nMust be able to wear steel-toe footwear.\nAdequate visual acuity to qualify for a forklift license.\nMust be able to operate a pallet jack for product movement.\nMust be capable of climbing ladders/stairs for material changes.\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:\nUnder general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks:\n\nInsure all components, cartons and packing material are at work stations as needed per the SLMS system.\nFollows utility route as instructed – removes finished goods and delivers to ship\nstage, supplies WIP parts and purchased components to assembly as ordered with kanbans.\n\nUses Heijunka board to pace utility route.\nActivate flag/light as needed to indicate ‘delay’condition\nGauging; training; and assisting other utilities with material and material movement.\nUse and maintain equipment including Utility cart, supply Kanbans, Production\nInstruction KanBan, etc.\n\nInsure product is placed in designated WIP stores\nInsure all cartons and packing material are at workstations as needed.\nInsure cartons are labeled correctly per labeling procedures\nMaintain routes according to SLMS system\nMaintains general housekeeping.\nUses utility knife to open and cut down packages of parts per safety procedures.\nOther work as assigned by supervisor.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES:\n\nPossesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.\nA minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 16 on the Cognitive section).\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nThis position typically does not require any travel.\n\nDISCLAIMER\nThe information contained in this job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
