This is a hands-on, field-focused role involving major infrastructure upgrades and large-scale building developments.If you take pride in precision, safety, and protecting the integrity of the built environment, this role is for you.What You’ll DoPerform Special Inspections in accordance with NYC Building Code – Chapter 17Conduct on-site inspections across diverse project types in NYC and NJObserve pile installations and geotechnical conditions for code complianceVerify construction activities align with approved drawings and specificationsPrepare accurate, timely, and defensible inspection reportsCoordinate with contractors, project teams, clients, and regulatory agenciesIdentify deficiencies and communicate corrective actionsMaintain strict adherence to jobsite safety requirementsSupport additional inspection scopes as projects evolveWhat You BringEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or ArchitectureMinimum 3+ years of inspection experience on NYC projectsStrong working knowledge of Chapter 17 and related inspection requirements5+ years of NYC/NJ construction inspection experience preferredLicenses & CertificationsNY or NJ P.E. license (Preferred)ICC Special Inspector Certifications (any of the following):Reinforced ConcreteStructural MasonryStructural Steel & BoltingStructural WeldingSoilsMechanicalACI Certifications (any of the following):Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade IConcrete Construction Special InspectorNICET certifications (Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems preferred)OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (required)Skills for SuccessStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety standardsProficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting and documentationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently in the field while collaborating with teamsCommitment to safety, compliance, and continuous professional developmentWork ConditionsField-based role on active construction sitesRegular walking, climbing, standing, and navigating uneven terrainExposure to outdoor and jobsite conditionsAbility to lift up to 25 lbsLocal travel throughout NYC and nearby areas requiredValid driver’s license and reliable transportation requiredCompensation & BenefitsHourly Rate: $30–$70Annual Incentive Bonus EligibleWe provide our staff with the opportunity to choose their own career path and grow with our company.
