Within Advisor Services and Wealth Technology (AWAT), you will contribute to the development of applications that support Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and the clients they serve.\n\nIn this early-career software engineering role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to build, enhance, test, and support scalable web applications and services. You will problem-solving skills, learn modern engineering practices, and contribute to solutions that improve advisor experiences while supporting business objectives. Success in this role requires adaptability, collaboration, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning as you grow your technical expertise across front-end, back-end, and cloud-based technologies within a highly collaborative technology organization.\n\nWhat you have\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.\n1+ years of software development experience, internship experience, or equivalent hands-on experience developing enterprise or web-based applications.\nExperience developing web applications using Angular, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and responsive web development concepts.\nExperience developing back-end applications using C#, ASP.NET, MVC frameworks, and RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.\nFoundational knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.\nFoundational knowledge of NoSQL technologies, including MongoDB or similar document databases.\nUnderstanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.\nKnowledge of web application architecture, application security, debugging, and performance optimization concepts.\nUnderstanding of CI/CD principles, automated testing practices, and source control management.\nDemonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with Microservices architecture and distributed systems.\nExperience developing cloud-native applications.\nExposure to cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments.\nExperience working in Agile development environments, including Scrum, BDD, and TDD practices.\nFamiliarity with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.\nExperience building secure, scalable, and resilient applications within regulated industries.\nKnowledge of modern software engineering best practices, including code review and continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nIn addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.\n\nWhat’s in it for you\n\nAt Schwab, you’re empowered to shape your future.
