Electrical Engineer
Description:
Electrical Engineers are responsible for completing the tasks needed to ensure a complete electrical design and an effective start-up of PRI equipment. The work includes design work, coordination with Manufacturing, initial system checkout and travel to customer sites for field start-up/training. In addition, Electrical Engineers will travel to customer sites to perform field service and/or annual re-certification of systems. Electrical Engineers have a wide scope of responsibility and work independently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
Design panel layout and wiring schematics for all electrical components used
Create bills of materials for purchasing electrical components
Write programming code for logic controller and display screen components used for control and operator interface options as sold on PRI equipment
Perform in-house start-up/checkout/Factory Acceptance Test of components and systems. Coordinate as needed with end users or contractors
Domestic and international travel to job sites to supervise installation of systems, perform start up and checkout activities, and provide training to end users.
Write detailed field service and expense reports
Provide technical support to customers via phone or remote connection to system
Provide training to other employees when necessary
UL, NEC, and international standards for electrical design must be observed as appropriate
Travel to job sites, domestic and international
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Familiarity with and competency of PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD design software
Understanding of electrical schematics and P&IDs
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
Work closely with mechanical engineering to ensure the final system design is complete and will provide the desired functionality
Work closely with purchasing to obtain vendor quotes, create bills of materials, review component options and expedite shipments
Submit electrical drawings to panel shop
Review and checkout completed electrical panels
Communicate effectively to provide support and training.
Sitting and operating a computer for extended periods
Standing, walking and climbing to inspect and work on equipment
Use of hand and power tools as required
