Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Lafayette, Louisiana.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med Surg / TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 05/25/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: May 25, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg - Renal position requiring at least 2 years of acute care and renal experience, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.DetailsHospital Med/Surg unit with a focus on renal patientsAdult and geriatric patient populationCommon diagnoses include AKI, CKD, ESRD, DM, COVID+, COPD exacerbation, wound infections, PVD/PAD, GI bleed, clotted AV fistulas, cellulitis, and general Med/Surg conditionsProcedures include general medicine, renal dialysis care, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridements, central line and dialysis access placements, and amputationsEquipment includes remote telemetry monitoring (managed by tele tech), peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs, and PyxisCharting via EpicNight shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AMFloating required; agency staff are pulled firstRequirementsActive LA or Compact RN license currently in handCurrent AHA certifications: BLS and ACLSMinimum 2 years of acute care experience requiredRenal nursing experience requiredMust reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionAdditional InformationFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the 2-year acute care experience requirementUpon starting, the unit manager may assign travelers to an Emergency Team, which may require remaining at the facility until an emergency event passes or serving on a relief teamBy accepting a contract with this health system, candidates agree to report as assigned by their unit manager in the event of an emergencyAll requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process13-week contractAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-703722.
