The MEP Coordinator thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of project workflows, and keeps all stakeholders informed and accountable.\nThis role may also be titled BIM Coordinator, VDC Coordinator, or Project Engineer depending on experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Coordination & Communication\nServe as the primary point of contact for day-to-day coordination between design engineers, project managers, field superintendents, and trade partners.\nTrack and manage the distribution of drawings, RFIs, and system clashes amongst internal teams and external stakeholders.\nMaintain project logs, action item trackers, and coordination matrices to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.\nFacilitate and document coordination meetings, including MEP clash resolution, and owner/architect review sessions.\nProactively identify schedule risks and communicate issues to project leadership with recommended solutions.\nBIM & Digital Coordination\nSupport BIM coordination workflows using Navisworks, Revit, and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.\nAssist in clash detection reviews and coordinate issue resolution with engineering and field teams and between internal and external stakeholders such as in house Design and Engineering teams and trade partners or customers.\nMaintain organized file management and version control of models, drawings, and project documentation.\nPrepare coordination packages, drawing logs, and progress reports for distribution to project teams.\nDocument coordination agreements and signoffs, address and hold accountable underperforming parties.\nRFI Generation\nLog and manage RFIs from initiation through close-out, ensuring timely responses and proper documentation.\nCoordinate with procurement and prefab teams to align submittal approvals with material lead times and production schedules.\nPrefab & Field Support\nCoordinate between the design team and the prefab facility to ensure drawings and BOMs are accurate, complete, and released on schedule.\nSupport field teams with drawing interpretation, as-built markups, and issue resolution during construction.\nAssist in tracking field changes, potential change orders, and documenting deviations from design.\nConduct or support site visits as needed to verify field conditions and support coordination efforts.\nSchedule & Reporting\nMaintain and update project coordination schedules in alignment with construction milestones.\nPrepare and distribute weekly status reports, look-ahead schedules, and coordination dashboards for project leadership.\nMonitor design and submittal deadlines, flagging delays to project managers before they impact the critical path.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nRequired: Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering. Equivalent field experience will be considered at a rate of four to one.\nRequired: 2–5 years of experience in MEP construction coordination, project engineering, or a related role.\nExperience with multifamily or adjacent market (hospitality, senior or student housing, mixed used), construction projects is required.\nFamiliarity with MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, low voltage, and plumbing) and construction documentation required.\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), and project management platforms (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or equivalent).\nWorking knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, or BIM 360 preferred; willingness to develop proficiency required.\nExperience managing submittals, RFIs, and drawing logs in a construction environment.\nFamiliarity with NEC, California Electrical Code, California Plumbing Code, or California Mechanical Code a plus.\nSoft Skills\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.\nClear and professional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable coordinating across disciplines and with external stakeholders.\nSelf-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a sense of urgency around schedule and deliverables.\nCollaborative team player who builds trust with both office and field personnel.\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
