All of this is done while raising the skill level of product development team members and improving our systems and processes. This position ultimately helps all projects - whether involved directly or not - get delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget while optimizing OEE. The Project Engineer will act as a technical liaison between all cross-functional teams. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.\r\nEssential Functions:\r\nParticipate in Advanced Molding Group Steering Committee. Review systems and processes with the rest of the SteerCo looking for OFI (opportunities for improvement).\r\nTechnical expertise: Provide consultation on part design, materials, mold design, tooling specifications, processing, and manufacturing feasibility. Uses skills to anticipate and avoid issues.\r\nCross-functional collaboration: Work with project managers, product development engineers, tooling engineers, process engineers, automation, quality, and others to ensure success.\r\nQuoting assistance. Support product management to develop quotes for complex injection molding.\r\nContinuous improvement: Identify initiatives to improve systems, processes, and workflow efficiency.\r\nTroubleshooting: Support manufacturing by troubleshooting product problems as assigned.\r\nSupport validation, testing, and documentation of new or modified processes and systems.\r\nEnsure all project activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.\r\nIdentify opportunities to improve OEE and reduce the price of non-conformance / cost of poor quality.\r\nSkills:\r\nUnderstands injection molded product development of IATF, ISO, AS9100, APQP, PPAPs, scientific injection molding, injection mold design, and many different polymers, etc.\r\nWorking knowledge of statistics (Cp, Cpk, standard deviation, SPC).\r\nProject management understanding, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.\r\nExperience with CAD software, Microsoft O365, flow analysis, and project management tools.\r\nFamiliarity with continuous improvement methods and root cause analysis tools (5Whys, 8D's, A3, etc.)\r\nUnderstanding of equipment design, automation, and process validation.\r\nUnderstands injection mold design, mold materials, mold components, and manufacturing methods.\r\nAble to coordinate and interpret plastic flow analyses.\r\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across organizational levels.\r\nDemonstrated critical thinking.\r\nStrong analytical and organizational abilities.\r\nResults-driven with a collaborative mindset\r\nDemonstrated curiosity.\r\nUnderstanding of how people learn and a willingness to help others learn.\r\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\r\nWhat You'll Bring\r\nEducation & Experience:\r\nBachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.\r\n7+ years of engineering experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.\r\nProven experience managing capital projects and leading cross-functional teams.\r\nBy applying for a position with HellermannTyton, you understand that should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check through the use of our 3rd party supplier.
