Sales Representative - Chemical Industry (Houston, TX)Location: Houston, TX Employment Type: Full-Time Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.About the RoleWe are seeking a driven and technically knowledgeable Sales Representative to join our team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemistry or chemical engineering, combined with proven sales experience. This role will be responsible for managing key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technically sound solutions to customers across the chemical, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and grow a portfolio of customers within assigned territories and industry segments.Leverage chemical engineering or chemistry expertise to understand customer applications, product performance needs, and technical requirements.Present product solutions, value propositions, and technical recommendations to prospects and existing clients.Manage the full sales cycle-from prospecting and qualification to proposals, pricing, and closing.Build strong relationships with procurement, operations, engineering, EHS, and technical teams at customer sites.Collaborate with internal technical experts, product management, and customer support teams to deliver tailored solutions.Forecast sales performance and report on pipeline activity using CRM tools.Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed.Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (required).Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.2+ years of sales experience, preferably in chemicals, specialty materials, manufacturing, or industrial products.Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Demonstrated ability to build rapport, manage accounts, and close deals.Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to travel within the Houston region and occasionally out of state for customer visits or events.Preferred QualificationsExperience selling chemicals, additives, polymers, resins, coatings, or related technical products.Background working with industrial plants, refineries, chemical manufacturers, or OEMs.Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to propose technically sound solutions.What We OfferCompetitive base salary + commission structureComprehensive benefits packageProfessional development and advancement opportunitiesA collaborative, growth-focused team environment EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
