This role is hands-on and infrastructure-focused, supporting production systems while also helping design and improve future cloud architecture.\nThe engineer will work closely with Network Engineers and other cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency of AWS-based systems. A major focus of this role is optimizing the AWS environment to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs, while maintaining stability and reliability.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nManage, maintain, and support production AWS cloud infrastructure in a hybrid environment\nDesign and contribute to future AWS cloud architecture, including improvements to scalability, availability, and cost efficiency\nPerform system installation, configuration, tuning, upgrades, and troubleshooting across cloud infrastructure\nSupport disaster recovery strategies, backup processes, and AWS recovery procedures\nMonitor system health, performance, and availability using Dynatrace (Datadog or Prometheus acceptable)\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents; perform root cause analysis\nOptimize AWS environments with a strong focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency\nSupport infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives (goal is to provision infrastructure with code)\nWork closely with Network Engineers on DNS, routing, load balancing, and connectivity to internal and external systems\nSupport and integrate services involving:\nIBM MQ\nSFTP / FTP / file transfer protocols\nAPIs and REST-based web service calls (consuming/integrating, not developing from scratch)\nManage and support:\nEC2 / VM instances\nLoad balancers\nIdentity and Access Management (IAM)\nData storage solutions\nNetworking components including VPCs, subnets, routing, static IPs, and availability zones\nParticipate in system evaluations, testing, and validation, including end-user reviews\nResearch and recommend new tools, services, and technologies to improve infrastructure performance and reliability\nMaintain documentation and best practices for cloud infrastructure and operational procedures\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE)\n5–7 years of overall IT Infrastructure experience\n4+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud experience in implementation and production environments\nStrong hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure, including:\nEC2 / VM instances\nVPCs, subnets, availability zones\nLoad balancing\nIAM\nAWS recovery and disaster recovery procedures\nSolid understanding of cloud computing principles and AWS architecture\nStrong background in infrastructure management and monitoring\nExperience with Dynatrace (Datadog or Prometheus acceptable)\nStrong understanding of network architecture, including:\nDNS\nNetwork routing\nStatic IPs\nLoad balancers\nConnectivity to APIs and external systems\nExperience working with:\nIBM MQ\nSFTP / FTP / file transfer protocols\nREST APIs (integration and consumption, not API development)\nExperience supporting Linux-heavy environments (approx. 90% Linux / 10% Windows)\nProven experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities\nPREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE\nAWS Certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.) – strongly preferred\nHealthcare industry experience\nScripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar)\nExperience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)\nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
