Collection Specialist
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced collection professional. The primary responsibility will be reaching out to customers to collect past due payments with the goal of maintaining a good client relationship. This individual will work closely with the credit manager and assist with credit functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop measures to encourage timely payments
Manage historical records of account statuses and collection operations
Report on collection operations and customer account updates
Contact customers to discuss account activity by phone, email and/or postal mail.
Follow established guidelines to review and update account status.
Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer.
Assist with filing/efile conciliation court documents.
Assist in setting up/establishing new accounts
Account recommendations for outside collections
Assist with Bankruptcy POC filings
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate with customers in a courteous manner.
Good level of problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Associates degree in Business or related field preferred
3+ years working as a PCS/Professional collection specialist
Knowledge of collection techniques/skip tracing
Knowledge of legal regulations with respect to debt collections/FDCPA
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
