This Food Quality Lab Tech will support the Quality Control team doing analytical and microbiological testing while following FDA, USDA, and GMP requirements. Analyze both final product and in-process sample streams utilizing HPLC, AA, GC, FT-IR, NIR, Karl Fischer titration, refractive index, particle size distribution, direct and viable micro testing, pH, spectrophotometric methods, microscopic examination as well as physical testing. Must be detail oriented, a self starter, and capable of producing high quality results on a consistent basis with minimal oversight. As a Quality Lab Technician, candidates will be responsible for the following:Job DescriptionPreparation and analysis of various final product and in-process samples utilizing analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniquesFacilitate the plant process flow by providing timely, accurate analysis resultsPosting analysis results into data systems and communicating to plant personnelRecognizes abnormal findings and works with process teams to resolveFinal QA/QC of outbound shipments and documenting resultsFollows established analysis methodologies and follow basic laboratory equipment maintenanceSupport other departments with analytical and project-based efforts on an ad hoc basisEnsures adherence to all company policies and proceduresUnderstands and demonstrates core values and actively participatesPerform lab calibrations for pH meters, Agtron, and Moisture Meters.Sample all products produced.Read microplates and accurately enter data.Submit production paperwork for management review.Microplate all samples for the day.Conduct a thorough GMP plant walkthrough.Maintain cleanliness in the lab area, including counters, lab equipment, sample fridges, and incubators.Organize the retain cooler and verify organization.Complete the QA swab form. Fill out the QA Pre-op form.Finish all raw incoming work.Verify refractometers. Verify thermometers. Verify pipettes. Calibrate pipettes. Calibrate scales.Perform environmental swabs.Qualifications Bachelor degree in a life science (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, etc.) Ability to be shift flexible between first and third shift Exposure to HPLC, GC, NIR, Karl Fischer, pH, and other basic microbiology and chemistry testingINTERESTED IN THIS ROLE?
