Get started now.\n\nJob Summary\nSoftware development intern is part of an agile engineering team responsible for building and maintaining enterprise‑grade Internet‑of‑Things (IOT), Warehouse Execution and Control Systems that support high‑volume, mission‑critical warehouse operations. This role focuses on developing, and supporting scalable software solutions on the Microsoft .NET stack for facilitating warehouse fulfillment. The engineer is expected to deliver high‑quality code, contribute to system reliability, and collaborate closely with product, operations, and other engineering teams.\n\nJob Expectations\n\nDesign, build, test, and deploy IOT features and services using the .NET stack.\n\nAssist in the development of robust Integration and End‑to‑End (E2E) tests to ensure system reliability in complex automated environments.\n\nImplement solutions that scale in high‑transaction, real‑time warehouse environments.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following established standards.\n\nParticipate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating feedback from others.\n\nAssist in writing technical designs and implementation plans for assigned features.\n\nTroubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application and system issues, including production incidents.\n\nSupport, maintain, and document existing IOT functionality.\n\nFollow secure programming and web application security best practices.\n\nWork closely with Product Owners and senior engineers to understand requirements, break down work, and estimate effort.\n\nCollaborate with other engineering teams (WES, TMS, SAP, 3PL integrations) to ensure smooth system interactions.\n\nProvide regular updates on progress, risks, and blockers to the team.\n\nMaintain high standards of software quality through testing, refactoring, and adherence to best practices.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.\n\nLearn and apply new tools, frameworks, and patterns as guided by senior team members.\n\nKnowledge, Skills And Abilities\n\nProficiency in C# or Java\n\nExperience with Socket programming with TCP/IP and UDP connecting to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is a plus.\n\nSolid understanding of Object‑Oriented Design (OOD) and SOLID principles.\n\nExperience working with relational and non‑relational databases.\n\nExposure to metrics instrumentation and analysis with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with REST APIs, event‑driven systems, messaging, caching, and scalability concepts.\n\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.\n\nUnderstanding of thread‑safe coding, basic concurrency, and performance considerations.\n\nFamiliarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.\n\nExposure to messaging/queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, pub/sub) is a plus.\n\nExperience developing native Android applications is a plus.\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively within a team and across functions.\n\nWillingness to ask questions, learn from senior engineers, and accept feedback.\n\nSound judgment in troubleshooting issues and escalating when appropriate.\n\nExperience Requirements\n\nKnowledge or experience working on backend systems, APIs, or distributed services.\n\nKnowledge or experience working on frontend development using ASP MVC, ReactJS or ReactNative\n\nExposure to logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or high‑volume transaction systems is a plus.\n\nEducation Requirements\nCurrently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n\nJudgment/Reasoning Ability\nAble to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.
