{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"da166f926d29c6c2323b2e20","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/da166f926d29c6c2323b2e20","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/da166f926d29c6c2323b2e20","title":"Instructor I","description":"Job Title: Instructor I\nJob Status: Part-time, up to 24 hours weekly\nJob Summary: Under general supervision, the Instructor I creates and provides a safe learning environment designed to engage students and children in academic, mental, and physical health, life skills, and enrichment activities in an educational setting.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nCreate lesson plans and implement activities that contribute to a climate where children and students are actively engaged in age-appropriate play, learning and meaningful experiences\nMay teach participant basic concepts of alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and comparison\nEffectively use age-appropriate behavioral techniques to redirect participant’s behavior\nEstablish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities\nIdentify, select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs\nAssist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement\nMaintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures\nCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with parents, participants, and other professionals on a regular basis\nCollaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment\nModel professional and ethical standards when dealing with participants, parents, peers, and community\nEnsure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area and/or program classification\nAssume responsibility for meeting their course and school-wide student performance goals\nDemonstrate gains in student performance\nMeet performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning\nOperate standard office equipment and use required software applications\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of:\nFundamental concepts, practices and procedures of effective early childhood learning and play activities\nAge-appropriate methods of redirecting inappropriate behaviors\nMay require knowledge of common core standards, and competencies out of school time standards\nSkill in:\nOperating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office\nAbility to:\nPartner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives\nIncite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes\nInterpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate\nOrganize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment\nCommunicate effectively orally and in writing\nWork independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment\nHandle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships\nEducational/Previous Experience Requirements:\nMinimum Degree Required:\nAssociate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited university/college\nPreference will be given to candidates with an Associate degree\nRequired Disciplines:\nEducation or related field:\n21st Century Community Learning Centers Program: Applicants must achieve a score of 70% or higher on the basic mathematics and language arts assessment administered by ACCESS to be considered for employment or provide documentation demonstrating that this test was completed and passed with an equivalent score within the past three years.\nAdult and Family Learning: Early Childhood Education or CDA Child Development Associate Credential\n~and~\nAt least 2 years of classroom teaching experience\nAny equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources\nLicenses/Certifications:\nLicenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire: None\nLicenses/Certifications Required within one year from Date of Hire:\n16 clock hours of training throughout the year\nWorking Conditions:\nAfter School hours:\nHours: Normal business hours\n21st Century Community Learning Centers Program: Work after school hours but may vary based on assigned school. Hours may very between 2pm and 6pm depending on the site.
