I&O provides productivity and collaboration solutions for an increasingly decentralized and mobile workforce.\n\nThe Impact You Will Have\nAs a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing and maturing Walker & Dunlop’s information security program. You will help protect the organization by implementing, managing, and optimizing security technologies across corporate systems, cloud environments, networks, and endpoints.\n\nWorking closely with technology teams and business stakeholders, you will strengthen security controls, support incident investigations, improve security operations, and drive secure technology adoption across the enterprise. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuously improving the organization’s security posture in an evolving threat landscape.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nBuild strong partnerships with stakeholders across business areas to support secure product and service delivery.\nServe as a security subject matter expert across multiple security domains and provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices.\nEvaluate existing security tools and recommend enhancements, replacements, or consolidation opportunities.\nImplement, configure, maintain, and optimize security technologies to ensure effectiveness and business value.\nPartner with technology and engineering teams to integrate security controls and solutions across the enterprise.\nEducate, advise, and influence stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, controls, and best practices.\nMonitor, investigate, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents.\nMaintain a comprehensive inventory of digital assets and support automation of asset management processes.\nPartner with the VP of Information Risk and Cyber Assessments to communicate risks and recommendations to leadership.\nSupport secure cloud adoption and implementation of security controls across enterprise environments.\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nEducation and Experience\n\n3+ years of experience in cybersecurity administration, engineering, or security operations.\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.\nIndustry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), or AWS Certified Security – Specialty preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\n\nHands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise security technologies, including EDR/XDR, DLP, identity and access management, vulnerability management, cloud security, and attack surface management solutions.\nExperience with security platforms such as Microsoft Defender XDR, Google SecOps, ReliaQuest GreyMatter, Netskope, Box Shield, or comparable technologies.\nExperience with PowerShell and automation of security operations in enterprise environments.\nStrong understanding of networking, operating systems, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud computing concepts.\nFamiliarity with cloud security services and governance tools within Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.\nExperience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security monitoring practices.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.\nUnderstanding of security considerations for emerging technologies, including AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes\nCourtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders\nThis position has an estimated base salary of $95,000 - $110,000 plus a discretionary bonus.
