Medical Director (Virtual) Primary Care / HIV / LGBTQIA+ HealthLocation: Texas (Remote with travel to Dallas every other week)Job Type: Full-TimeOverviewWe are seeking a Virtual Medical Director to lead clinical operations and telehealth services for a growing, mission-driven healthcare program. This role is primarily remote, with a strong focus on managing virtual care delivery across the organization, while maintaining an on-site presence at our Dallas clinic every other week.The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership, oversee quality initiatives, and support a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, with an emphasis on HIV prevention and treatment, gender-affirming care, and services for LGBTQIA+ communities.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership and Virtual Care OversightLead and manage the virtual care platform, ensuring high-quality, accessible telehealth servicesProvide clinical oversight for physicians, APPs, and nursing staff across virtual and in-person settingsEnsure adherence to evidence-based practices, clinical protocols, and regulatory standardsPartner with operations leadership to improve workflows, access, and patient outcomesPatient CareProvide direct patient care, including a mix of virtual and in-person as neededDiagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including HIV care and preventionReview labs, imaging, and treatment plans while ensuring timely documentation and follow-upSupervision and Provider DevelopmentSupervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)Conduct chart reviews, clinical audits, and regular one-on-one meetingsSupport provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention effortsQuality and Performance ImprovementLead Quality Improvement initiatives and participate in organizational quality committeesMonitor clinical performance metrics such as patient outcomes, documentation timeliness, and patient satisfactionIdentify and address gaps in care and health equityCollaboration and StrategyPartner with the Chief Medical Officer and clinical leadership on program development and strategySupport policy development, clinical protocols, and training initiativesEngage in community outreach as neededSchedule and StructurePrimary role is virtual, overseeing telehealth operationsTravel to Dallas clinic required every other weekBlend of administrative leadership and patient care responsibilitiesQualificationsRequired:MD or DO with active Texas medical license or ability to obtainBoard certified in Primary Care or related specialtyMinimum 5 years of clinical experienceExperience supervising Advanced Practice ProvidersActive DEA licensePreferred:Experience in HIV care, PrEP, STI treatment, or gender-affirming careBackground in telehealth or virtual care leadershipExperience working with underserved or diverse populationsSkills and CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExperience with EMR systems and telehealth platformsCommitment to health equity and patient-centered careExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to drive clinical quality and operational performanceWhy Join UsMission-driven organization focused on underserved communitiesOpportunity to lead and shape a growing virtual care modelCollaborative and inclusive clinical environmentCompetitive compensation and leadership impact
