The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing electronics for use in a harsh subsea environment. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage designs from conception, through end of life incorporating feedback from stakeholders and customers continuously. The position requires cross-functional collaboration to integrate precisely controlled electro-mechanical designs. The candidate must demonstrate excellent process and project management skills to function effectively with peers and cross-functional teams.\nJob Description\nPerform design and analysis of digital, analog and power circuits to help create robust products.\nCreate schematics, layouts, and choose components for PCBs.\nDevelop specifications and test requirements that drive product design.\nAnalyze designs for reliability, serviceability and manufacturability.\nPerform engineering duties at customer sites, or offshore when required.\nCreate bills of materials and oversee creation of drawings to support new designs.\nProvide technical leadership to other engineers.\nFunction as technical lead on tasks of moderate complexity.\nCollaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on detailed design work\nProvide support to Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service departments.\nRecommend improvements to engineering policies and establish new procedures as needed.\nDrive continuous improvement to electrical best practices by evaluating industry tools and techniques\nMaintain an awareness of how assigned tasks impact schedule, scope, budget, and quality\nYou are meant for this job if:\nB.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 7 years experience in electrical design or M.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years experience\nA strong understanding of electronics and their integration with software, firmware, and mechanical systems\nBackground on higher frequency LV and HV power electronics design\nA track record of success in learning, leveraging, and integrating proven technologies into new products to solve challenging problems.\nPrevious experience with PCB design software, Altium preferred.\nHands-on PCB troubleshooting and soldering.\nProven teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience with electrical product safety.\nExperience with simulation tools (LTSpice, Matlab/PSIM is preferred)\n\nAdditional Desired Knowledge and Skills:\nExperience in design of electronics used in harsh environments.\nWide range of electrical engineering technological knowledge, including, but not limited to:\nSensing and control systems.\nEthernet communication systems at the physical and/or network level.\nMicrocontroller technology, application and programming.\nHV and LV power distribution and transmission lines.\nEMC/EMI compatibility design.\nFiber optics and optical data links.\nExperience as a technical lead on engineering development projects.\n\nWork Environment:\nRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, listen and speak.\nFrequent need for manual dexterity – using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pulls, reach, grab, hold, and lift.\nAbility to lift up to 40 pounds.\nRegularly required to sit & stand for long periods of time.\nFrequent use of PC is required.\nWear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as needed in safety zone areas.\n\nSalary and Benefits\n$94,234 - $175,006\nTechnipFMC offers employees a comprehensive benefits package.
