The CNC Machinist position supports API's mission by responsibly setting up, operating, and maintaining both automated and manual machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses, to produce precision metal parts and components according to mechanical drawings, schematics, or engineering specifications. A Typical Day: CNC Machinist with 3 or more years of experience with lathe/milling. Mastery of CNC Operating. Utilize Fanuc controls to input G & M code. Calculate feeds and speeds. Set up, tool selection, and operation of parts with standard or custom specifications. Knowledge of using and interpreting results from various measuring tools. Ability to follow setup sheets. Study mechanical drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine the dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece. Verify conformance of finished work piece as specified. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. The Ideal Candidate: High School Diploma or equivalent. 3 or more years of CNC Machinist experience on Lathe or Mill. Experience working with machine tools. Forklift experience preferred.
