Dietitian
Registered DietitianCentraState Medical Center has an employment opportunity available for a Registered Dietitian. This important role evaluates the nutrition needs of patients and residents, planning appropriate interventions based on current medical and nutritional status. The Registered Dietitian also provides nutrition education to patients, residents, and healthcare personnel in accordance with standards set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, while adhering to the requirements of the Joint Commission, CMA, and New Jersey state health regulations.ResponsibilitiesEvaluates patients nutrition status for impact on disease process, using current Medical Nutrition therapy.Develops appropriate care plan to correct nutrition deficits and achieve optimal nutrition state.Educates patient/significant others for nutrition/dietetic strategy post discharge.Participates as an integral health team member through discharge rounds and daily contacts with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers.Displays commitment to excellence through patient satisfaction and enhancement of clinical skills.Successfully completes life-span education as appropriate.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics with RD license required for graduates before 2024Master's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics with RD license required for graduates from 2024 onwardBachelor's/Master's degree qualifying for AND Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership and registrationCompletion of an approved ASCEND internshipAt least one year hospital clinical experience preferredMember of AND (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team
