About This PositionThe Municipal Court provides equal access to justice, professional and impartial treatment, and the fair and time resolution of all court matters. Municipal Court performs their responsibilities in a manner that serves to maintain the public's trust and confidence in the Court as an institution and to enhance the public's respect for the rule of law, while preserving and protecting individual rights guaranteed under the constitution.The Municipal Court is seeking a dedicated professional to fill their vacancy for a Municipal Court Security Officer. Court Security Officers are the first responders for the building to duress alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and medical incidents.Responsibilities IncludePatrolling and observing the activities of persons in and around the building and screening entrants for prohibited weapons. This includes providing customer service and building relationships with customers; answering routine inquiries and directing customers to appropriate areas. Assessing and solving problem situations while exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution. Visually patrolling the building and grounds to observe unusual behavior. Preventing unauthorized access to restricted areas.Monitoring the access control and CCTV systems. Remaining at a fixed post to observe activities.Completing log entries and incident reports. Ensuring that all customers and staff have vacated buildings and performing a security check of all doors and windows at closing.IDEAL CANDIDATECustomer-centric, detail-oriented, proactive, innovative, and analytical.Ability to interact professionally with members of the public, judges, attorneys, and other employees in the legal system.Ability to perform security and tactical skills to deescalate any situation.Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.SALARYPay Range: $23.18 - $34.25 per hour.Hiring Range: $23.18 - $29.58 per hour.Pay Range ExplanationPay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit. Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment must be fingerprinted and will have their fingerprints used to check the Criminal History Records of the State of Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
