This role will collaborate closely with development and business teams to ensure applications meet functional, technical, and quality requirements.The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA professional with a strong background in Java, test automation, and software development methodologies. You should be comfortable troubleshooting complex technical issues, working independently, collaborating across teams, and identifying opportunities to expand automated testing and improve overall QA processes.What You’ll DoCode, troubleshoot, and maintain Java applications and test automation code on a daily basis.Participate in software design and code review sessions to ensure test plans and strategies align with business requirements.Develop configurable, maintainable, reusable, and reliable automated testing components.Create and execute test plans, document and report results, analyze defects, and perform root-cause analysis.Prepare and manage test data and participate in peer reviews of testing deliverables.Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of test environments.Develop test case automation criteria and determine which manual test cases are appropriate for conversion to automated scripts.Support manual testers with automation needs and execute manual test cases when necessary to understand application functionality.Prepare and maintain architecture and testing diagrams.Identify and troubleshoot technical and operational issues with systems, products, and services.Participate in testing activities related to production deployments, releases, and remediation efforts.Perform manual testing as needed.Participate in special projects and other assignments as required.Required Qualifications6-10 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience.Strong experience with Java programming and troubleshooting.Experience with multiple automation programming languages and QA/testing tools.Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies and best practices.Experience with test case management and execution using test management tools.Experience implementing and auditing automated testing methodologies and QA standards.Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).Knowledge of computer hardware/software, operating systems, web browsers, Internet technologies, and software installation/configuration.Experience or knowledge of technologies such as SQL, Oracle, BusinessObjects, web technologies, authentication, and security technologies.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, multitasking, and time-management skills.Ability to conduct independent research, analyze information, and draw logical conclusions.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships across technical and business teams.Comfortable working independently with general supervision in a highly matrixed or virtual organization.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a closely related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.Consulting Solutions and its family of companies is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
