The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance, durability, safety, and quality standards.\n\nThe salary range for this position starts at $80,000 and total compensation is based on experience and qualifications.\n\nThis is an on-site position that will be based out of our Lake Zurich facility.\n\nECHO’s benefits include:\n\n11 paid holidays\nExtremely affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance\nPaid time off\nYearly bonus potential\n5% 401K match\nTuition reimbursement\n\nDuties/Responsibilities:\n\nCollaborate with engineering project teams to achieve testing objectives and meet project timelines.\nPlan, schedule, and perform laboratory and field tests on new products, assemblies, and components, including durability, impact, vibration, sound, and performance evaluations.\nDevelop, revise, and execute test procedures and protocols to support product validation activities.\nInterpret and apply relevant industry standards and regulations, including ANSI, ISO, UL, and other applicable requirements.\nAnalyze test data and communicate results, recommendations, and product improvement opportunities through detailed technical reports.\nSupport product development efforts by assisting with test setup, data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and report preparation.\nIdentify opportunities to improve testing capabilities and recommend the acquisition of equipment and tools that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.\nTrain and mentor team members on advanced testing methods, equipment, and best practices.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform other related engineering projects as assigned.\n\nJob Experience/Skills:\n\nMinimum of three years of engineering experience in a product testing or validation environment.\nHands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, including sound, vibration, and data acquisition systems.\nExperience designing and fabricating test fixtures, equipment, or systems.\nAbility to develop and execute testing programs in accordance with internal specifications and external standards.\nWorking knowledge of outdoor power equipment, power sports, agricultural equipment, or similar mechanical products preferred.\nUnderstanding of two-cycle and four-cycle engine systems.\nKnowledge of DC motors, battery-powered systems, and electrical components is a plus.\nStrong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills in manufacturing or engineering environments.\nSelf-motivated with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based software.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information.\nSpanish language skills are beneficial but not required.\n\nEducation: BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for degree.\n\nTravel: Able to travel to various field test locations to place or monitor/inspect test units with minimum oversight or supervision.
