For this role, we are looking for a Network Engineer with solid experience in cable infrastructure and fiber connectivity solutions, including the design and build out of data center infrastructure. We are also seeking someone who can use their coding and automation experience to help improve our data center design, construction, and facility operations and processes.\n\nNetwork Engineer, Foundation & Support Responsibilities:\n\nSupport all aspects of data center construction and network deployment, including new greenfield sites, collocation build outs, and retrofits\nCollaborate with network engineering, data center design, and data center connectivity teams to generate network infrastructure design packages and solutions for the deployment team\nAct as a subject matter expert (SME) for the physical infrastructure and design and deployment of the building management system (BMS), controls network, and other general services networks in the data center\nPartner with our software teams to ensure our Fiber Infrastructure Management tool accurately reflects the network infrastructure design intent and captures any infrastructure changes\nPerform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure our internal tools correctly reflect the network infrastructure for field installations\nBuild and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors\nInitiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of our data centers through the use of coding and automation\nPerform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction, design architects, and contractors to validate cabling infrastructure and network builds according to Meta's standards\nInfluence future iterations of data center and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability\nMaintain technical references, processes, and training documentation\nDevelop automation and tooling to drive consistency and efficiency in all aspects of network design, deployment, and operations\n10% to 30% of travel required based on project demand\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience\n7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale data center network infrastructure\nDemonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design and installation best practices, and industry standards\nKnowledge of the data center's design, construction, and commissioning processes\nExperience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale data center projects\nTrack record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tactically\nWorking knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching), and optical transport technologies\nKnowledge of enterprise and provider-level network hardware platforms (IP and optical)\nOrganizational, multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills experience\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)\nExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)\nDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies\nIn-depth experience with inside/outside plant cable design and dark fiber builds\nExperience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervision\n2+ years of programming experience in at least one language, such as Python, C++, Go, or other languages\nDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)\nExperience in adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy review)\nDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies\nExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)\nData center design or relevant telecommunications certifications\nExperience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractors and vendor relationships\nKnowledge of data center facilities management using building management and automation systems\n\nAbout Meta:\n\nMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
