Here you will make an impact by:\n\nProviding ongoing training and direction to operations and business unit personnel regarding harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) and other government agency reporting requirements.\n\nHolding ownership of tariff classification rules and maintenance of existing data to ensure data accuracy.\n\nActively monitoring tariff classification changes for your designated region(s), updating internal databases and communicating this to external brokers.\n\nDemonstrating effective communication skills and strong analytical ability to anticipate and resolve issues while enabling improved decision making.\n\nDemonstrating knowledge of regulatory requirements and utilizing depth and breadth of experience to establish trade policies and procedures aligned with regulatory changes, risk, and impact.\n\nMonitoring and seeking to influence applicable country trade regulatory activity and serving as a liaison at both national and local agency levels.\n\nDriving improved regulatory compliance and business effectiveness through process optimization.\n\nYour Skills and Expertise\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s Degree or higher and 5 years of professional experience in harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) Classification.\n\nHighschool or GED, U.S. Customs broker license, and 9 years of professional experience in harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) Classification.\n\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\n\nUS Licensed Customs broker or equivalent in a foreign jurisdiction.\n\nIn-depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise applying general rules of HTS classification (GRIs) and concepts such as “essential character.”\n\nAbility to interpret customs rulings, engineering drawings/schematics, and communicate technical information clearly.\n\nExperience with large and transformative projects involving international trade.\n\nExperience working cross-functionally across different geographies, functions, and systems of record.\n\nExpertise with trade focus areas such as release, classification, valuation, and trade risk management.\n\nFamiliarity with working knowledge of PGAs.\n\nExperience handling broker inquiries.\n\nExcellent communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nExperience with SAP GTS and Tradeflow is a plus.\n\nWork Location and Travel\n\nHybrid Eligible – job duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Eagan, MN or San Antonio, TX at least 3 days per week.\n\nTravel may include up to 10% domestic/international.\n\nRelocation assistance may be authorized.\n\nYou must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nCompensation range: $83,600 - $114,950 (base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible). This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
