The HR Assistant will assist with administrative HR tasks, maintain accurate personnel records, support onboarding and benefits processes, and help with payroll and HRIS maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with foundational HR knowledge who is organized, discreet, and eager to grow in HR.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and document management.Maintain accurate employee records and update the HRIS with new hires, changes, and terminations.Support the employee onboarding process by preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation logistics, and conducting initial check-ins.Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment coordination, answering basic benefits questions, and liaising with providers.Support payroll processing by preparing and verifying timesheets, documenting payroll changes, and coordinating with payroll providers or finance.Help recruit and hire by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies, procedures, and general workplace questions in a timely and professional manner.Prepare HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover) and assist with ad-hoc HR projects and audits to ensure compliance.Ensure confidentiality of employee information and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.Contribute to process improvements to increase the efficiency and consistency of HR operations.Qualifications1+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of HR principles, employment regulations, and best practices.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable learning HR systems.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a customer-service orientation.High level of discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.Required skill: Human Resources.Nice to have: Benefits Administration, HRIS experience, Employee Onboarding experience, Payroll Processing experience.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Life & Disability, 401K, Pet InsuranceFor this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
