Established in 1997, we've built a stellar reputation in Waukee, Iowa, specializing in landscape design, installation, lawn care, irrigation maintenance, horticultural care, snow removal, and golf & sports turf.Objective:Manage and develop the Landscape Maintenance team in creating beautiful spaces & experiences for clients in residential and commercial settings. Landscape Maintenance includes caring for existing landscapes and property amenities with services such as but not limited to: plant care; mulch maintenance; landscape bed weed control; trimming & pruning of shrubs, trees, perennials; pressure washing; plant replacements and enhancements to existing landscape beds.Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and maintain accountability for Landscape Maintenance operationsAnalyze department budgets and financials to monitor departmental productivity and overall effectivenessProvide leadership & training to direct reports to ensure quality in the landscape maintenance department is consistent and processes are followed by all. This includes but is not limited to: accurate job ticket completion, management & development of landscape maintenance team members, quality control checks of team members' work product for horticultural accuracy & completeness, manage daily O&M of departments tools & equipment for safety/efficient operationImplement and maintain a comprehensive horticultural training program for team membersManage crew schedules to meet the needs of clients, operations, and procurementCoordinate procurement for ordering and delivery of materials to ensure timely job executionCoordinate & communicate with Fleet Manager for equipment needs & repairsAssist sales team with field identification of plants, diseases, and environmental factors to support job planning; Assist sales team by identifying enhancement opportunities at current client sites for Account Manager-Client follow upsPerform field work at key projects requiring expertise and/or as neededAttend continuing education classes as required to maintain certificationsPerform snow removal duties as assignedPromote, demonstrate, and enforce safety procedures & company policiesSupport and enforce RJ Lawn & Landscape's Core Focus and Core Values: Honest, Professional, Driven, Team Builder, Dependable, SafetyMeasures of Accountability:Annual financial goals of Landscape Maintenance Department - Revenue & Net MarginDepartment & crew efficiencyClient satisfaction (customer compliments or complaints)Training completion & team developmentSafety record of departmentQuality control scoresTimeliness of scheduling & job completionCollaboration effectiveness with Sales and Fleet teamsQuarterly rocks achievementRequired Qualifications:Minimum 2-year horticulture degree or equivalent 5 years of horticultural experienceMastery of large and medium-sized equipment operationCurrent 3OT license or the ability to obtain a 3OT license within the first 30 days of employmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience in landscape maintenance operationsExperience in crew or department leadershipAdvanced horticultural knowledge: tree, shrub, perennial, and annual ID; plant and landscape disease ID; disease and plant injury treatment proceduresCurrent CDL endorsementRequired Documentation:Confidentiality Agreement & 2-Year Non-Solicitation ClauseValid driver's license & insurable driving recordI-9 verification formClear background checkCompensation:Base salary + performance-based bonusHealth insurance plan options (up to 66% paid by RJ for employee selection)Life insurance & long-term disability fully paid by RJContinuing education & business development membership duesSimple individual retirement account with 3% match by RJPTO program (.05 x hours worked, April - March calendar; .075 after five years)Paid holidays (6 Federal + your birthday)Cell phone & company vehicleReports To: Operations ManagerHow To Apply:Applicants are encouraged to apply directly to this posting.
