In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, and continuous improvement of our virtual machine infrastructure across VMware/vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments. You will work closely with platform, DevOps, and application teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and well-governed IaaS services.\nKey Responsibilities Administer, operate, and support virtual machine infrastructure across VMware vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments\nProvision, configure, and decommission VMs in alignment with organizational standards and capacity plans\nDevelop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automated configuration management, patching, and compliance enforcement\nMonitor VM health, performance, and resource utilization; identify and resolve infrastructure incidents in a timely manner\nCollaborate with platform engineering and security teams to implement hardening standards and ensure infrastructure-as-code best practices\nParticipate in on-call operational support for VM-related incidents and service requests (e.g., patch management, certificate rotation)\nMaintain accurate documentation for VM runbooks, configurations, and operational procedures\nContribute to lifecycle management activities including OS patching, image management, and template standardization\nSupport capacity planning efforts by tracking utilization trends and making recommendations for rightsizing or scaling\nAssist in evaluating new tooling and technologies to improve automation, observability, and operational efficiency\nRequired Experience 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing virtual machine infrastructure in enterprise environments\nProficiency with VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, and VM lifecycle management\nDemonstrated experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation\nSolid understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, subnets, DNS, load balancing) as they relate to VM connectivity\nExperience with Linux and Windows Server administration in a virtualized environment\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code principles and practices\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across computer, storage, and network layers\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision\nMust reside within the United States\nRequires additional fingerprint/background clearance, and ongoing recertification every 3 years.\nPreferred Qualifications Working experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS services (Virtual Machines, VNets, Managed Disks, Azure Resource Manager)\nExperience with Azure CLI, OpenTofu, or similar for infrastructure provisioning automation\nFamiliarity with VM image/template pipelines (e.g., Cloud Init)\nExposure to monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Azure Monitor)\nKnowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks\nRelevant certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft AZ-104, or Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE\nFlexible Working At Conduent, we value individuality and flexible working arrangements.
