Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources leads the firm’s HR strategy and operations for attorneys and business professionals across five offices. This role oversees employee relations, talent management, performance management, recruiting, compensation and benefits administration, and professional development initiatives. The Director partners closely with firm leadership to foster a collaborative, high-performing workplace grounded in professionalism, accountability, inclusion, and respect.The Director can sit in either Oakland or Los Angeles.QualificationsCandidates must currently be employed at a Law Firm.Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferredProfessional certifications such as SHRM, HRCI, CLM, CEBS, or similar credentials preferred8–10 years of progressive HR leadership or employment law experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environmentStrong experience in employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution, and organizational leadershipExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organizationExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated discretion in handling confidential and sensitive mattersProficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems, including HRIS/payroll, performance management, and background check platforms
