Provide leadership role for implementing improvements to existing products that enhance performance, reliability, or reduce cost. Interface with internal and external counter-parts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead research and development investigations to develop and test new magnet assembly processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new processes or data mining.Prepares technical reports because of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.Lead designs, assembly, and manufacturing procedures to guide production specification.Lead new developments in assembly, tooling, and equipment.Supervise technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established assembly procedures.Preparation and presentation of design and analysis reports.Coordinate cross-functional design, analysis, and testing of MRI magnetsDrive design for manufacturability, understanding ergonomic and EH&S considerations.Support manufacturing lean initiatives.Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues from both factory and field.Lead in many phases of the product development life cycle, from concept and product specification generation, to manufacturing ramp up and manufacturing production support, optimizing functionality, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability and cost.Participate in product safety, cost out, cycle time reduction and quality enhancement projects.Support the manufacturing plant and the Installed BaseSupport and comply with the quality and safety goals of GE Healthcare (GEHC).Required QualificationsBachelor's in engineering or computer science or related field.Min 2 years working experience.Familiar with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment mfg., assembly technology, materials technology, and manufacturing methods technology.Ability to work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.Desired CharacteristicsExperience with MRI magnet design and manufactureExperience specifying large scale tooling, or tooling design.Flexibility in handling challenging, multi-tasking workload.Strong written and verbal communication skillsCapability to generate innovative conceptsStatistical analytical skills.Significant amount of experience on data mining and machine learning.We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.GE HealthCare offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
