The work consists primarily of finite element mesh creation in FEMAP, running cases via NASTRAN, and performing related structural analyses such as bolted joint margins.\n\nThe ideal candidate is a meticulous, self-motivated mechanical engineer with some experience building finite element models. He or she would have an interest in developing their skills in applied structural engineering.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nBS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field\n\n>6 months of experience building and analyzing finite element models (coursework will be considered)\n\nSome hardware experience, preferably in a structural environment\n\nSelf-motivated work ethic with a desire to learn new aspects of structural analysis and testing\n\nGood written, verbal, and virtual communication skills\n\nWillingness to travel several times a year for vibration testing\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nSome familiarity with FEMAP or similar pre/post processor\n\nComfort executing NASTRAN solutions\n\nSome experience with CAD modeling (Solidworks, Onshape)\n\nPossesses a solid understanding of thermal-structural effects\n\nThis position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
