Ensures accurate inventory transactions, product traceability, and timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.\n\nEssential Duties Responsibilities and Competencies:\n\nReceive incoming materials, products, and supplies from internal departments, customers, and external vendors.\nVerify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, work orders, and receiving documentation.\nInspect incoming containers for damage and report discrepancies or concerns to management.\nMaintain product identification, lot traceability, and proper labeling requirements.\nMove raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to designated staging and storage locations.\nDeliver materials to production departments to support daily manufacturing requirements.\nReturn completed products to designated departments or locations.\nCoordinate movement of product to and from outside processing vendors.\nReceive and process returned products from outside processing vendors.\nProvide weight and shipment information required for outside processing and freight activities.\nPrepare material for shipment, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and documentation.\nOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.\nPerform inventory transactions and maintain inventory accuracy.\nAssist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.\nMonitor inventory levels in production staging areas and replenish materials as needed.\nMaintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices where applicable.\nEnsure products are stored and handled in a manner that prevents damage or contamination.\nAssist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles.\nFile and maintain shipping, receiving, inventory, and vendor documentation.\nCommunicate material shortages, damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, and delivery issues to supervisors.\nSupport production departments by responding to material requests in a timely manner.\nAssist with scrap collection, sorting, and movement to designated areas as required.\nFollow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.\nParticipate in continuous improvement, 5S, and safety initiatives.\nAssist during audits, inventory reconciliations, and quality inspections as needed.\nPerform other duties as assigned by management.\n\nDaily Tasks:\n\nReview material requirements and production needs at the beginning of each shift.\nVerify and deliver materials to production departments.\nMove completed product between departments and staging locations.\nCheck inventory levels of wire.\nMaintain accurate inventory and location records.\nConduct routine forklift and material handling equipment inspections.\nKeep aisles, storage locations, and work areas clean and organized.\nEnsure all containers are properly identified and labeled.\nMonitor staging areas for material shortages or excess inventory.\nSupport production personnel with material requests throughout the shift.\nReconcile receiving paperwork and vendor documentation.\nAssist with any cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.\n\nThis role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Ottawa, KS location.\n\nQualifications\n\nOTHER COMPETENCIES:\n\nLanguage Skills:\n\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one situations to employees.\n\nMathematical Skills:\n\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\n\nReasoning Ability:\n\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\n\nComputer Skills:\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.\n\nEducation and/or Experience:\n\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of one (1) year similar experience or training in an office environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; and talk or hear.
