The Data Team is made up of Data Analyst, Data Engineers, Data Warehouse Engineers, Data Scientist, and Database administrators. We are working to transition Select Sires, Inc. into a data-informed company using data as a competitive advantage. Such availability, stability, recoverability, maintainability, and performance are key to support all data activities. We have a mixture of on premises SQL Servers, Azure databases and Serverless Databricks data environment. If you want to leverage your existing experience with traditional database administration and help maximize the value of transitioning to the Azure cloud this role may be for you. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain availability, stability, recoverability, maintainability, and performance of database and servers to support transactional data systems, analytical data systems. Proficiency in classic on-premises SQL Server, including T-SQL programming. Experience with Azure SQL Database and its associated services. Familiarity with Databricks and its application in data engineering and analytics. Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices. Strong understanding of automation: Data pipelines, SQL DACPACs, PowerShell, Infrastructure as code (IaC) Knowledge of best practices for data security, user permissions, and compliance with data regulations. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. Knowledge of principles of Transaction data systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
