Product Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Product Design Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will research, develop, and improve product designs while overseeing prototype production and packaging. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in manufacturing and design. This is a direct hire opportunity with benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, and annual increases.Primary Duties:Research and develop ideas and processes for new products.Improve the performance and design of existing products.Oversee production and packaging of prototype products.Specific Responsibilities:Design, model, and test product prototypes.Conduct research and prepare design proposals for projects.Establish design briefs and create concepts, performance, and production criteria.Identify and select appropriate materials for production.Produce final hand drawings and detailed specifications.Create and update parts lists.Calculate and document production costs.Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop design concepts.Requirements:Knowledge of manufacturing processes for steel-fabricated components.Experience with warehouse inventory systems such as BAAN, SAP, or Global Shop.Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD programs.Strong understanding of standard US and metric measurement systems.Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.Ambassador Personnel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
